The objective of this crowdfunding is to raise money for the production and launch of a limited edition two-volume box set of personal stories from veteran Gurkha soldiers who held senior positions in the historic Gurkha regiments of the British Army.

The stories of the Gurkhas from both the east and west of Nepal trace their lives from their childhood, invariably barefoot and clad in threadbare cotton and wool garments; their struggle to be selected to enter the British Gurkha regiments; their training in Malaya and Hong Kong and subsequent operational deployment around the world.

The book also brings to the fore the patience and perseverance of their wives, who in many cases were left behind in Nepal to single-handedly manage the homesteads and farms whilst raising their children and, in many cases, the next generation of Gurkhas

As well as providing a unique insight into three generations of Gurkhas, the entire proceeds of the sales of the books will be donated towards the Gurkha Welfare Trust and the Gurkha Museums in UK and Pokhara and the Gurkha Memorial Park in Dharan, Nepal.
