Hi all,

I recently went to the South of India for my wedding where I had the opportunity to visit Payir in rural Thenur. The village my husband's family originates from. Payir is a trust that does many things, but here is what stood out to me:

- Getting young children out of child labour and providing them with free education as well as meals. Children from the trust have gone on to achieve great things, and in turn, have uplifted their families and the community.

- Empowering women to work and generate their own income by discovering their own potential in patchwork and textiles, in turn fostering their independence and changing the perception of women in a society that functions off traditional roles.

The trust has launched many other initiatives, including providing health care to those who can't afford it.

I had the honour to visit the facility myself and I was in awe of what they were doing there. I got to see the direct impact donations have on people's lives and I wanted to see how I could help. And this is where you can come in and help me!

Sometimes it's hard to donate when you don't know where your money is going.

Payir facility was founded by my husband's uncle, on land donated by my husband's grandfather. Every penny goes towards making the facilities better and bigger to help more people more quickly. They are currently building a science block for children to learn more about astronomy!

Visiting Priyar was truly a humbling experience for me, and helped me put my life in London into perspective. And I'm sure many of my friends would have fell in love with the place as much as I did!
