Right now, across the country, incarcerated individuals face a system where the odds are stacked against them in ways most people never see. When harm happens inside correctional facilities, the system is not balanced:
• Correctional staff have legal protection and representation
• Incarcerated individuals often have little to no access to legal support
• Reports of misconduct can be falsified, ignored, or buried
• Families are left without answers, and accountability is rare
We are working to change that.

Our Mission
This campaign is part of a growing movement for justice — brought about by Travis E. Williams, a victimized inmate turned prison reform activist — determined to expose systemic failures and injustices while seeking to establish meaningful change, not only for the state of Virginia, but nationwide.
We are advocating for the passage of two critical pieces of legislation designed to bring fairness, transparency, and accountability to the prison system. These two bills aim to be passed at a state and federal level to have a nationwide impact:

Travis E. Williams entered prison as an under-educated black yan shaped by the streets — but what he encountered inside was something deeper.
Upon being housed Red Onion Supermax State Prison, he was subjected to systemic ill-treatment, and witnessed countless other inmates being subjected to the same ill-treatment. But when he sought to speak out against the staff misconduct for correction and accountability, with the simultaneous support of his family on the outside speaking out as well, he was met with retaliation to punish, silence and deter him from speaking out any further. These acts of retaliation included but were not limited to - being forced to kneel down on numerous occasions despite his medical no kneel pass, being deprived of out of cell activities & showers, when pulled for out of cell activities, being subjected to having shackles deliberately placed on extremely tight to where they caused pain & suffering, having personal property such as his tv, books, and other items damaged, while falsifying staff reports to deny the existence of such ill-treatment.
These occurrences, and worse, happen every day throughout all prison systems nationwide, especially to minorities. When considering the effects of mass incarceration within the black & brown communities, this desired change is an imperative step towards true prison reform.
Now, he’s fighting not just for himself — but to expose the truth and change the system for all others.
The Bills
1. The Correctional Legal Equity and Access to Justice Act (CLEAJ Act)
This bill ensures that incarcerated individuals have access to state-funded legal representation when they experience abuse, civil rights violations, or negligence.
It creates a system where justice is no longer dependent on who has resources — but on what is right.

2. The Truth in Prison Staff & Administrative Reporting Act (TIPS Act)
This bill establishes strict accountability for false reporting and misconduct by correctional staff, in-cluding independent investigations and real consequences.
It ensures that truth cannot be manipulated to cover wrongdoing.

Why This Matters
These are not just policy changes — they are protections for human lives.
Without legal access and truthful reporting:
• Systemic abuse & ill-treatment for the black & brown community, as well as the LGBTQ+ community, will continue to exist without proper remedy for challenge, accountability and liabil-ity
• Abuse can go unchallenged
• Medical neglect can go unaddressed
• Wrongful discipline and extended incarceration can occur
• Families are left in the dark
This legislation is about restoring balance, truth, and basic human rights in a system where those things are too often missing.

A Message From Us
This fight is personal. It’s about fairness. It’s about truth. It’s about making sure no one is invisible in the eyes of justice.
We cannot do this alone — but together, we can push for a system that lives up to what justice is sup-posed to mean.
