Hi, we are Briany’s family. Briany passed away today 11/09/2025 at 18:25 after a very difficult battle fighting DKA (Diabetic ketoacidosis) sepsis, Pneumonia and other complications.
Briany was admitted 09/09/2025 with very abnormal symptoms, upon arrival to resus there was very clear signs of infection and distress. The medical team acted fast and managed to stabilise Briany, when we left Briany that evening she was comfortable and resting.
During the evening the medical team transferred Briany to ICU for intensive treatment and observation as she had developed further complications.
Briany’s sugar and sodium levels were very, very elevated and despite being administered with several fast acting medications, the symptoms did not improve. Whilst fighting the above, blood tests were showing signs of organ failure and ultimately this was the start of Briany telling us she was ready.
Over the next few hours, things progressively became worse to the point Doctors advised that any close family members should consider coming to say their goodbyes.
I never thought this day would come! Sat here writing a post asking for your help to now lay our daughter to rest. Our hearts are shattered, our world has been destroyed and I simply do not know what I’m doing. Everything feels black, but I need to know our beautiful girl will have the best send off possible.
The joy and happiness Briany brought to so many people will forever live in their hearts. You could have met Briany once, or a hundred times but the outcome would always be the same, you would walk away with the biggest of smiles.
Now words don’t seem to make sense, I hear it but don’t understand it. Although Briany never spoke a word, she just made beautiful sounds, she was the one who always guided us. Without Briany, time all of a sudden seems to have stopped and I don’t know how to restart the clock.
Briany deserves to have the most amazing party to celebrate her life. She was the life and soul of every room she entered and we just want her to be remembered for every smile she gave to anyone she came across and every life she touched.
