Over 8 days at the end of May, I will be talking on the challenge of walking O Camiño dos Faros (The Lighthouse Way). A 200-km (120 mile) hiking route in Galicia (Spain) that links Malpica with Finisterre along the coastline.
The route is of medium difficulty as this coast is very steep. As soon as you are skirting some cliffs you are then climbing a 100-meter mountain. The total route has a drop of 4000 positive meters and 4000 negative meters.
I’m taking on this challenge as a fundraiser for The Princes Centre in Bourne End, charity no. 1151083. The Centre provides a personal day care service and support for older people including clients with dementia and respite for full-time
carers.
The Princes Centre needs the support of the local community, donors and local businesses to ensure the continual improvement of the building and continuity of its services; so if you are from Bourne End or the surrounding area, please help me support this local charity, who are winners of the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
The team at the day centre are passionate about what they do and are dedicated to providing care to clients in Bourne End and surrounding areas with the support they need to enjoy life to the full.
