We are raising funds to support a community-based healing project with Nukak Indigenous teenagers in the Colombian Amazon. This initiative is designed to provide a safe and creative space for young people who are at risk of psychoactive substance use, helping them reconnect with their identity, express themselves through art, and participate in collective healing. This initiative will run from the 3rd to the 6th of June.
The Nukak are a nomadic Indigenous people who have traditionally lived in deep connection with the forest. In recent decades, they’ve been displaced due to armed conflict, illegal economies, and environmental degradation. Today, Nukak youth face mental health challenges, and increasing exposure to psychoactive substances. Through art workshops, open dialogue, and a collaborative mural, we aim to strengthen cultural identity, create safe emotional spaces, and promote community healing.
What this project will support?
Co-create a participatory mural with Nukak youth, reflecting messages of prevention, identity and hope
Two psychosocial workshops where drawing becomes a tool for emotional expression and cultural memory
Transform public spaces with meaningful messages made by the youth themselves

Art materials: paints, brushes, rollers, craft paper, projector
Food and logistics for participants and facilitators
Honorariums for local artists and cultural guides
