On Saturday the 30th of July our brave 19mo boy developed a fever and went off his food. Throughout the course of the day he developed a rash and lethargy. He was taken to the local doctor who said go home, watch him, give him panadol and he should come good.
To his Mum and Dad this didn’t sit right, so they took him straight to Sunshine emergency. The doctors took blood and gave him antibiotics. Within 2 hours they came back and told Cat and Lach any parents worst nightmare… Preston had leukemia and would be transferred via ambulance to RCH within the hour.
As you can imagine this has been an extremely challenging and emotional week and to add to the stress he was a day later diagnosed with RSV and COVID. This meaning he is to be in isolation for 21 days.
Our little man has a long road ahead but we have no doubt he will kick this thing in true Preston (wreak it Ralph) style.
Any donations will be gratefully used to supplement lost income, ongoing costs associated with treatment, car parking and any other expenses that arise.
We appreciate any help you are willing to offer and we thank you.
