Preston's Eagle Project at the VA Hospital
Hi, my name is Preston Halbert and I am a Boy Scout in troop 50. I am currently working towards the Eagle scout rank. I have taken on different positions throughout my years of scouting such as quartermaster, patrol leader, and SPL (senior patrol leader).
I am currently a Life scout. I have been in the Boy Scouts for about 5 years now, and I have participated in several other Eagle projects and they have all been beneficial to the community.
My Eagle project is to install a rock meditation labyrinth and to beautify the area around the Patriot House where the families of the veterans stay when their loved ones are in the hospital.
The Patriot house and the project will be at the VA hospital on Wilshire Blvd in Westwood.
The purpose of the rock meditation labyrinth is to help calm the families that are worried about their loved ones in the hospital. The succulent garden I’ll be making will help beautify the area and act as a fire resistant barrier around the patio.
I chose this project because it helps the veterans who have served our country, fought for our freedom and our families.
Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated and help veterans for years to come.
The money that is donated will be used to buy the rocks, and plants. The troop already has the tools and gear to complete the project.
Any extra money over what I use will go to more and bigger plants and my friend's Eagle project that is also at the VA.
I thank you and so do the veterans.
Preston
