A group of everyday cyclists from Preston Pedals is taking on the Ride for Spinal Injuries Association 2026 — Preston to Southport, a 50-mile cycling challenge along the beautiful Lancashire coast ♂️
In the group are recumbent trike riders and amongst the triking community are those who have suffered spinal injuries. Trikes have given people a new lease of life and they are inspiring. Organisations like SIA are so important in supporting people with spinal injuries to have the quality of life they want.
This isn’t just about challenging ourselves with the distance — we're riding to support the Spinal Injuries Association, a charity that helps people rebuild their lives after spinal injuries. From expert advice to peer support, they make a real difference when it’s needed most.
The ride is on our doorstep starting at New Longton near Preston. It’s going to be an early start, a long ride, and probably a bit of a challenge for some of us — but knowing it’s for such an important cause will keep us going every mile.
If you can, please consider donating or sharing this page. Every contribution helps support people facing life-changing injuries.
Thanks so much for your support — it really means a lot.
More information about Spinal Injuries Association: Every four hours another person sustains a spinal cord injury – and another family’s life torn apart. Our aim is to be the go-to place for everyone affected by spinal cord injury, so that we can quickly connect them to the vast network of people, organisations and services they need.
