My name is Tanya, and I’ve recently stepped into a role I never expected to hold so soon. On January 5th, my father passed away, leaving me the incredible responsibility of our family’s multi-generational heritage farm.
This land has been in our family since my great-grandparents, Vesper and Loraine Quail, who first called it home. It passed to my grandparents, Richard and Barbara, then to my dad, Richard A. Yingling Jr., and now to me. This isn't just a property; it is a living map of my family’s history.
The heart of this farm is our historic barn. It is an officially recognized landmark, a beautiful piece of craftsmanship that has stood for generations. However, time and the elements have taken a heavy toll. The barn is currently in a state of disarray and is in urgent need of structural stabilization to keep it from falling over.
I am committed to saving this structure—not just because of its historical value, but as a standing memorial to my father and the generations of the Quail and Yingling families who worked this land before me.
The funds raised here will go directly toward:
Emergency Shoring: Bracing the frame to prevent further leaning.
Foundation & Sill Repair: Replacing rotted beams to ensure the barn stays upright.
Roof & Water Diversion: Stopping the leaks that are the biggest threat to the wood.
Any contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure that this piece of our history remains standing for another century. If you aren't able to donate, sharing this story with others who value historic preservation and family legacy means just as much.
Thank you for helping me honor my dad’s memory and keep our family heritage alive.
