A New Home for the Tibetan Community of Philadelphia
We're thrilled to share exciting news! The Tibetan Association of Philadelphia (TAP) has purchased an old church building in Norristown, PA. This will become a vibrant community center, a place where Tibetan families can gather, learn, and celebrate their rich culture.
Why This Matters
For many Tibetans who have fled their homeland, the sense of belonging and connection to their heritage is deeply important. This community center will provide a space for:
Preserving Tibetan Culture: Language class
es, cultural performances, and youth mentorship programs will ensure that Tibetan traditions and history are passed down to future generations.
Supporting the Elderly: Social and supportive care services will offer comfort and companionship to our elders.
Building Bridges: Educational and cultural exchange programs will foster understanding and friendship between the Tibetan and local
communities.
Your Support Can Make a Difference
We've launched a $150,000 fundraising campaign to renovate the church building. Your generous donation will help us:
- Create three classrooms for language and cultural education
- Renovate kitchen and bathroom facilities
- Transform the nave into an assembly hall
- Establish a library and storage space
- Repair the parking lot
Every dollar counts! Together, we can create a thriving community center that will benefit generations to come.
How You Can Help
Donate: Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact.
Share: Spread the word by sharing this campaign with your friends and family on social media.
Volunteer: If you're in the Philadelphia area, consider volunteering your time and skills to help with renovations or community events.
Let's work together to build a brighter future for the Tibetan community in Philadelphia. Thank you for your support!
