My name is Titus Swan, and I’m the Founder and Director of WVSHI Inc. and Riverstone Community Services. This fundraiser supports the full scope of our work, preserving overlooked history, restoring dignity to those long forgotten, and serving West Virginians who need help right now.
WVSHI Inc. exists to document and protect the truth about West Virginia’s state hospitals, places where generations lived, died, and were often buried without record, family, or ceremony. Through programs like Project Dignity and The Legacy Project, we are helping restore cemeteries, recover identities, and return meaning to what others tried to erase.
Riverstone Community Services, our operational branch, turns that same mission toward the present. We distribute food, hygiene supplies, winter coats, beds, and diapers across West Virginia. We assist graduate counseling students, support struggling families, and are preparing to open outpatient clinics offering mental health services to those who’ve been left without care for far too long.
With your support, we’re able to:
– Preserve the history of West Virginia’s state hospitals
– Restore and protect patient cemeteries through Project Dignity
– Provide essentials like food, diapers, and beds to families in crisis
– Support students training to become mental health professionals
– Build a new kind of mental health clinic focused on access, dignity, and impact
– And help descendants reconnect with relatives once lost to institutionalization
We’re a grassroots effort, not backed by major institutions. We let the work speak for itself.
Every donation helps. Every share helps. And every voice that joins us adds to the impact.
