Help Us Keep the Historic Montello Theater Alive!
The Montello Theater has been a cherished part of our community for generations — a place where kids experience the magic of their very first movie, where families gather for a fun night out, and where lasting memories are made.
We’re committed to preserving the magic of this historic space while keeping it accessible to everyone — with affordable prices that make it possible for large families to enjoy a night at the movies without the high costs of modern theaters. In fact, every single veteran gets in for free, thanks to donations and our own out-of-pocket contributions — something we are deeply proud to continue.
For the past three years, we’ve poured our hearts into this theater. We’ve never taken a paycheck — every bit of time and every dollar we’ve put in has been about keeping the doors open, prices low, and the building alive.
Some of the improvements we’ve already tackled include:
• Installing a brand-new air conditioner so guests stay comfortable all year
• Replacing the front doors to improve safety and curb appeal
• Upgrading the entire concession area flooring for a cleaner, safer experience
• Donating $500 to our Veterans Fund to ensure vets always watch for free
Now, we’re asking for your help with our next goals — replacing the decades-old carpet and ordering critical parts for our aging projector system. These updates are vital to keeping the theater safe, clean, and fully operational. Without a working projector, we can’t show movies at all — and without support, we risk losing this special place.
Your support helps us:
• Preserve and update this 160-year-old building
• Keep ticket and concession prices low for families
• Maintain a welcoming space for community events
• Ensure veterans always attend for free
• And most importantly — keep the magic of the movies alive in Montello
Every donation — whether it’s $5 or $500 — makes a difference. If you’re not able to give financially right now, sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family means just as much.
Thank you for helping us protect a piece of history and keep the Montello Theater shining for future generations.
