The Christie Home Museum located in Long Prairie, MN was built in 1901 in the Queen Anne style, the home was the residence of Dr. George R. Christie, Sr. and his family for 75 years. In 1976, the Christie family donated the home to the City of Long Prairie with the condition that it be preserved as a museum and remain open to the public. The home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Christie Home is unique because it has remained remarkably unchanged. The Christie family was the home's only resident family, and many of the furnishings, personal belongings, and artifacts are original to the home.

Today, our goal is to preserve the home and maintain as much of its original character as possible. Our current priorities include a new roof, restoration of the original windows and historic wallpaper, as well as ongoing repairs and day-to-day upkeep.

Preserving the Christie Home is about protecting an authentic piece of Long Prairie and Minnesota history so that future generations can continue to experience and learn from this special place.
