Farewell gift for Pizza Pie.

If you haven't heard, Pizza Pie Cafe in Bountiful, will be closing June 30th as a result of restrictions due to Covid-19. This is a huge loss in our community, keep reading to find out why. This business was not only a place with all-you-can-eat delicious food, it was a place family and friends gathered. But even more than that, this local business used what they had and served the community, without hesitation. A lot. When a need arose, they were there. Just last August when Bountiful had that fire on the hill, Pizza Pie owners gathered their kids in the middle of the night and went and made pizzas and delivered them to the firefighters. When people have needed a place for a fundraiser, they hosted graciously! Contributing in every way they could. They have made a huge impact on schools! They have sponsored so many school events and always went above and beyond helping wherever they could. Even at the beginning of this pandemic, when the schools shut down, and when they knew that their restaurant would be facing a huge struggle, they didn't hesitate to take it as an opportunity to start helping others, knowing how hard of a time this would be for everyone. Pizza Pie reached out to a school that wasn't able to perform their musical that they had been working on for months. They emailed saying, "This has been a difficult time for everyone! We have found that the thing that makes us feel best is if we do something nice for others. So...we decided that we wanted to do something special to make these kids feel a bit of extra love. We want to give each play participant their own personal-sized dessert pizza for free." These instances are only a few of MANY times they have stepped in to help our community. They've given so much. Now we have an opportunity to give back to them! Like they said when things are difficult, "We have found that the thing that makes us feel best is if we do something nice for others." We can do something nice for them now!  This brings me to my plea. While there is nothing we can do to save Pizza Pie at this point, there is something we can do for the owners and their amazing children. This money we raise for them will be a comfort and strength that will help them through their uncertain future.I know these families personally, and just like how they run their business, they are like this in their personal lives. Constantly helping others.Their families are facing an uncertain and tough future for sure, as many of you are also experiencing. And as many of you can imagine. Who knows how long it will take for them to get back on their feet, but in the meantime, we can do something. These families need us. It's the least we can do for everything they have done for Bountiful. I know there's no way to keep this a secret from them, but how cool would it be for it to be a surprise?! If you can somehow share this and keep it from them, that would be awesome. But more than that, we need to share with as many as possible, get as much help as possible. I know they would hate the attention and would probably feel really uncomfortable with this whole situation, but this is what they get for being so awesome to our community! haha! It's the least we can do for everything they have done for us.
