I'm reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit.

After years of hardship and heartbreak, I've finally regained access to my late mother's home-a place filled with the memories and belongings of both her and my brother. For the past three years, the house was overrun by squatters who stole, traded, and discarded our family's possessions. They left the home in shambles, and the emotional weight of that loss is still hard to carry.

But I’ve held onto hope. I’ve taken steps to restore the property and protect what's left of my family's legacy. Now, just as I'm beginning this journey of restoration, I've learned that I owe $2,200 in back taxes-an amount I cannot pay by the August 18 deadline. Missing this payment means losing the house and all that remains of my loved ones.

I'm not someone who asks for help easily. In the past, situations like this haven't gone well, and that fear makes this plea even harder. But I believe in second chances, and in the kindness of others who understand what it's like to fight for something you love.
