Preserve Jones Chapel's Sacred Land
Donation protected
Jones Chapel United Methodist Church will be closing its doors permanently on June 30, 2025, and we are faced with the responsibility of securing the property, more specifically, the cemetery where many loved ones are interred.
In order to retain this sacred land, we need to pay the United Methodist Conference either $6,700.00 or $10,200.00, depending on the final amount set by the superintendent, who revised the initial request from $6,700.00 to $10,200.00 after fundraising efforts began.
Currently, we have raised $4,816.00, but we still need your help to reach our goal.
If we are unable to purchase the property, it will be sold to a party not connected to the Tibbee Community, and we risk losing the cemetery and its historical significance to the community.
We are reaching out to anyone who is able to contribute, including individuals, groups, or organizations, to help preserve and maintain this property for future generations.
