Preserve Elena's Heritage: Synagogue Restoration
Donation protected
Today is my birthday :)
And yea I wanted to take the oppportunity to ask for a donation to a special cause that touched my heart :)
This June, I visited a synagogue built in 1912 in Entre Rios, Argentina.
My great-grandmother Elena Müller was born in this province in 1896. She was the daughter of two Jewish immigrants from Bessarabia (current day Moldova).
(Some history: around 50,000 Jews emigrated to Entre Rios, Argentina in the late 1890's and early 1900's. They left Europe and Russia escaping persecution and pogroms.)
I recently visited a synagogue built by and for the day-laborers and agricultural workers. This national relic and part of my heritage is in total disrepair.
I've been in touch with the municipality of Basavilbaso, where this synagogue is located to make sure your donations go to repair specific parts of the roof and walls of this magical synagogue.
I'm going to match every single donation made.
Thank you so much for reading and caring.
Sending Love,
SA
