Help the Prentice Family GROW!
Donation protected
Let me start by saying that the decision to create this GoFundMe page did not come easily. It came after months of prayer and seeking advice. We are so thankful you are taking the time to read our story!
When Ken and Amanda met in the fall of 2001, they never imagined they'd be as blessed as they are today. They both agreed that once they were married (2004) they both wanted children. Two years after saying their vows, a beautiful baby girl was born! Madison is now a pre-teen, and lot has happened in these past twelve years!
Before Madison turned 3, Ken and Amanda felt it was time to try for another baby. They didn't face any difficulties getting pregnant with Madison, so they never anticipated infertility. In the spring of 2011, they went into the emergency room because Amanda was in intense abdominal pain. Even the doctors assumed it was appendicitis. Unfortunately, the pain Amanda was experiencing was from an ectopic pregnancy. This is a rare case in which a fertilized egg implants outside of the uterus. In Amanda's case, the fertilized egg was growing inside of her fallopian tube, and caused the tube to rupture. Under the care of some amazing surgeons, Amanda's fallopian tube was able to be repaired!
Since that time, the Prentice's have experienced years of infertility. In 2011 and 2012, Ken and Amanda did months of IUI (intrauterine insemination) fertility treatments, with no success. They reached their "maximum" tries for IUI treatments, which was a painful end to an unsuccessful journey. Doctors have never been able to find anything "wrong" throughout this process. Every month, things looked "normal and promising." It was because of this that Ken and Amanda realized that God had a plan to grow their family, and they needed to trust Him.
After much prayer, in 2013 the Prentice family decided to become foster parents. Not knowing what blessings (and heartbreaks) would lie ahead, they became licensed foster parents in the Spring of 2014! Since that time, over 15 foster children have spent time in their care. Ken, Amanda, and Madison have loved these children like their own, and have gone through the heartbreaking process of saying "goodbye" to each one. They are so very thankful for every child that has walked through their doors, and they will forever be a part of the Prentice family.
Throughout this time, the desire to have more children has not faded. Ken and Amanda want more children of their own. Madison desperately wants brothers and sisters "that aren't going to leave after a few months." After consulting with their doctor, they are all in agreement that IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatments are the next step in the hopes to expand their family. As most of you know, IVF treatments are very expensive and not guaranteed. Reproductive clinics require a pre-transfer payment before starting treatments.
We ask that you join with the Prentice family in praying for more children. We believe that God is capable of AMAZING things, and that He has great plans for this family of three. If you would please consider donating, all money raised is going towards IVF treatments in 2019. Amanda's first appointment is January 22, 2019. Continue to follow their journey here!
Again, THANK YOU for taking time out of your day to read their story, and THANK YOU to those of you who are willing to generously give to the Prentice family.
