Pregnant Black Protestor in Need of Housing

Jorryn, a young, Black local frontline protestor for the liberation of Black Lives in Washington, DC, needs your help.
On September 5th at a regularly scheduled peaceful protest, police officers intimidated the march organizers into dispersing early with their aggressive and overwhelming presence. As people were leaving in small groups to avoid police violence, dozens of cops identified and surrounded Tony and used their bicycles as weapons to knock him to the ground, off of his bike.
Within 24 hours of Tony’s arrest nearly $5k in court fees, or the reason his probation was extended, were paid off and he should’ve been released. Instead, Tony still sits in Arlington County Detention Center, because newer stipulations outlined require a permanent address in the DMV before being released.

At Tony's most recent hearing on November 13th, the judge ordered that he serves six months due to a lack of acceptable housing as well as an inability, between both DC and VA courts, to surveil him properly. By the time Tony is released, he will have missed more than 3/4 of his partner's pregnancy.
Jorryn, Tony’s partner and soon to be mother of his child, is working full time in the middle of a pandemic to make that happen but given the outrageous vetting processes and rental prices across the district, she’s having a terribly difficult time raising the funds.
