Dear Friends and Family,

Early on Christmas Eve, my beloved partner Demetrius "Pree" Avie and father of Laila, Devin, and our baby, Derrick, was shot and badly wounded. He was dropped off at a local hospital where he was on life support and then air-lifted to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Pree is a fighter and is steadily improving after surgery, although he continues to battle setbacks and internal bleeding. He may require additional interventions, including support to overcome the use of his arm and hand, as well as the trauma that comes with being a victim of violent crime. At this time, we don't know who did this and are solely focused on Pree's health and recovery.

I am Pree's sole-caregiver as he recovers, and am so grateful for any funds that can be used to support us and our children as he fights to regain his health.

Many of you may know that Pree works as a care-giver, and now he needs care for himself and our family. Your support means the world to us.

I will provide updates as we receive them, both on Pree's health, and as the Turlock Police Department's investigation unfolds.
