Prayers and Help for Oakley

Updates from Sam and Ethan:

Oakley’s CT scan they were searching for interstitial lung disease which was CLEAR They’ve had him on a NG tube for a few days & then switched him to a NJ tube which means a NG the food just goes right into his stomach while a NJ goes into his intenstine. Yesterday they did a THIRD swallow study where since he hasn’t been getting food by mouth he was really excited to drink the bottle where they were able to see clear as day he has been aspirating. While the other swallow study’s he only took a few sips so this last xray really showed how dangerously he has been drinking thin liquids. Which means when he was drinking his milk/formula the liquid wasn’t going in the normal way it was going into his lungs, the next plan is to continue with the NG tube see how he does, and to see what he can drink or eat by mouth that they thicken to see if he can come home soon!! they are thinking he most likely will need the NG tube at home as well but we’re hoping he can do some regular foods along with it as well. Also last night was his FIRST night without oxygen!! I will keep you all updated and I’m so glad we are starting to get some answers!!!

Reaching Out for Help for My Nephew
#PrayersForOakley

Many of you know that baby Oakley Letendre, Sam Firth and Ethan Letendre’s son, has been in the hospital. He began experiencing breathing issues at the end of February while in Florida. Although he has since returned home, his breathing problems persisted, leading to his admission to the UVM Medical Center on March 13th, where he remains. The doctors have conducted MULTIPLE tests, but have yet to find answers. Burlington is now consulting with specialists in Boston. While Sam and Ethan are missing work, I am reaching out to family, friends, and the community for support. First and foremost, please offer prayers for Oakley, his family, and the guidance of the doctors. If you are able, I am also seeking monetary donations to help cover their expenses while they are in the hospital, awaiting a diagnosis. Thank you in advance for your support!!!

UPDATE 3/26/2025: Still no diagnosis. Oakley will be transported to Boston Children’s Hospital in the upcoming days.
