My brother, James and his wife, Destiney were expecting their first baby in April 2026, but God had other plans. Sunday, December 28th Destiney started to leak amniotic fluid and went into the hospital. They soon learned that baby Bennett was trying to come out at only 23 weeks. Doctors made the decision to admit her with a plan to keep baby in as long as possible, and not discharge her until Bennett was born. They later found an infection and decided Bennett had to come out. On December 31st she gave birth to a 1lb 3.4oz baby boy. He came out fighting. He's small but mighty. He's already been through two blood transfusions, a damaged lung which developed a hole and had to be repaired surgically through his rib cage, developed jaundice and also an infection they are trying to control. He's overcome so much in his short time with us, but as expected he has a very long road ahead of him.

James and Destiney are by his side for it all. They are being strong for him and praying for the best. The road ahead for the 3 of them will be long and stressful not just emotionally, but financially. Besides medical bills and lost work time, the hospital is about a half hour away and they will be back and forth for months.
