Dear Friends,
It is with the heaviest of hearts we inform you the loss of our beloved Prateek Sinha . Prateek, 48 years old, was a kind-hearted person who has supported so many friends, families and the broader community. His sense of humor always brought out a smile in everyone’s face. He was a great leader, team player and mentor for his colleagues. He is survived by his amazing wife, Vidya, who is a homemaker and a smart 10 years old son & 4yrs old cute daughter.
The unthinkable does happen. Prateek had a sudden massive cardiac arrest at 6:30 am on 04/13/19 but by the time he was taken to JFK hospital, he passed away.
His elderly mother in India is in a severe state of shock, his wife and kids are under tremendous emotional pressure and grief. He was on a work visa and the only breadwinner of the family. We want to stand together with this wonderful family and pave way for a smooth transition during this sad phase of their life.
We, Friends of Prateek, are organizing this campaign on behalf of his wife, son and parents. We are a team of his close friends and colleagues from Edison, NJ area and have known him personally for years.
This go-fund me campaign is to raise funds to:
1. Support the family to cover the sudden expenses of funeral, travel and family support.
2. Manage living expenses for the next year until Prateek's wife can get job training and find a job.
3. Secure funds for the kid’s education (we would like his bright Son and adorable daughter to thrive and succeed as per their dad’s wishes).
4. Support his elderly mom who have deteriorating health and other medical ailments (Prateek was the only ray of hope for her till date)
5. Handle local expenses, repatriation of the body, selling of the home etc.
All the funds that are getting collected in the campaign will be directly deposited to the beneficiary's account. The funds collected will be managed and invested by the beneficiary after consultation with a financial adviser to cover both short-term living expenses of the family (Prateek's wife, kids and mom) and also to cover long-term educational expenses for the kids.
With high hopes, we sincerely request you all to support this campaign. His loss can neither be compensated nor his family’s grief can be taken away in a short span of time. However, we all can make a big difference in their lives by contributing towards this campaign.
