Prayer Garden at Mount Holy Cross Convent

Hello, my name is Alan Nguyen, and I am a 17-year-old senior at Fountain Valley Highschool. I began my Scout journey nearly 9 years ago in fourth grade as a Webelo. I've since come a long way and am currently Life rank with Troop 567 in Fountain Valley, California. I am currently working towards achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting, and I am seeking your help to complete my Eagle Scout project. To achieve Eagle rank, I must plan, organize and lead a service project for my community.

For my project, I will be building a prayer garden at 13148 Old Foothill Blvd, Mount Holy Cross Convent in Santa Ana, Orange County. This project will not only help me to fulfill the requirements for Eagle Scout, but it will also benefit the community in many ways. It will be used for retreats for the Nuns attending as well as those residing there. Additionally, as a peaceful space for others to be able to pray and come together to reflect. I will be using a variety of colors of materials to create a diverse-looking garden to represent the different types of Catholics and their respective backgrounds.

However, creating this special project requires a significant amount of resources, including large amounts of mulch, drought-tolerant plants, pebble rocks, stepping stones, and more. These resources come with a cost, and as a high school student, I am unable to fund this whole project on my own.
