***UPDATE*** 7/27/22

Mary Carroll gained her wings on 7/27/22. Her fight with this bacteria has come to an end and she's is at peace.

As some of you may know, Mary had a stroke in 2018 that changed our lives. She had always been the happy go lucky woman every since. Not long after her stroke she went into kidney failure as well as battling some mini strokes. She has since

then underwent dialysis every night since. She worked so hard in rehab to to build up strength and we couldn’t be more proud of her.

To fast forward about 2 months ago she was in the hospital battling the flu. The docs started to notice a bacteria growing but couldn’t pin point what it was. July 10 she was taken to the hospital due to low oxygen levels and weakness, a precaution that had to be taken due to dialysis. Several days passed and she was just getting severely worse. She was struggling to breathe and running a high fever. The rapid response team was called in 3 times throughout the night. Mary was then taken to ICU where she was placed on a ventilator to allow her to breathe and her body to heal. She was then diagnosed with pseudomonas pneumonia, a bacterial infection in her blood. She then became sepsis which lead to her body going into sepsis shock. At this point she went on full life support, almost maxed out of blood pressure medication. Several days later she contracted yeast in her blood stream along with the pseudomonas pneumonia. Many tests, antibiotics, sedatives, IVs and blood pressure’s medications later and she is still fighting for her life. She hasn’t been responsive throughout the process. We have now entered day 13 of her on a ventilator and she’s still fighting hard. We are starting to enter a crucial time frame with the ventilator before other damage may occur. Still keeping strong faith in God to bring her through this. Either way we know God is holding her hand.
