Aid and PPE for UVA's Frontline Workers

The University of Virginia is counting on the labor of thousands of custodial, dining, medical, facilities, and residential staff in order to enact its reopening plan this Fall semester. While these workers are essential to providing students with an "on Grounds experience," many of them have been given limited and insufficient Personal Protective Equipment in order to safely perform their work.
In light of the University's failure to sufficiently protect its workers, UVa Young Democratic Socialists of America, UVa Mutual Aid, and UVa's chapter of United Campus Workers Virginia are raising funds as well as accepting in-kind donations to provide University staff with additional PPE. Your contribution may also be used as emergency aid in case of renewed furloughs and layoffs as the semester advances.
We hope to meet our goal within the next week so we can begin sourcing and ordering equipment and distributing it as in-person classes begin.
