Breaking the Cycle

I have been working with children at the Lighthouse Orphanage in Cambodia since 2013. In the winter of 2014, my sister and I volunteered at this orphanage, and spent time with these children. Many of these children are facing the prospect of uncertain futures after high school, when they are no longer under the guardianship of the orphanage. 

Chinlong (17), Chantou (17), and Srey Nich (16) need sponsorship to obtain vocational skills. Chantou wants to specialize in the tourism and travel industry. Srey Nich is preparing to go into nursing. Chinlong is aiming for business studies in university.  These are three special young people that I formed a bond with during my time in Cambodia.  By helping them obtain higher education, we can assist them to break out of the cycle of poverty, with jobs that afford sustainable incomes, basic medical care and housing.  I have made it my personal mission to raise ¥10,000 to fund their higher education and I ask that you please consider donating to their cause.

To ensure that the money goes exclusively towards their education, I am collaborating with Ray of Light Cambodia (rayoflightcambodia.com), a charitable organization based in my school, which makes payments directly to the schools they will attend.
