Hi, I’m Jade Barnett,
I am the Director & CEO of Power2Prevail Community (P2P), a Community Interest Company dedicated to empowering vulnerable young people to see that their past or current circumstances don’t define or limit their ability to succeed.
Rooted in my own lived experience of being permanently excluded from school and entering the care system at 15, P2P delivers lived-experienced programmes, workshops, and mentoring that bridge the gap between adversity and opportunity.
We specifically work with care experienced individuals 16-25, alongside those who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), at risk of school exclusion, have been permanently excluded, or have been affected by the criminal justice system.
Our Work
One of our key initiatives is our Journey2Adulthood Programme - a programme delivered to care-experienced young people aged 16-25. Inspired by my own journey and through the voices of 50 care-experienced young people, this programme equips care-experienced youth with the essential skills and knowledge they need to navigate independent living successfully.
Beyond working directly with young people, P2P is also committed to driving systemic change. We provide training for practitioners and corporate teams, helping them create environments that truly understand and meet the needs of vulnerable youth. Our ultimate goal is to ensure all our young people are given knowledge, support, resources, sustainable employment and career development for a chance to have a positive and successful future.

- Start our Christmas Dinner Project in 2025 to ensure care-experienced young people have a place to celebrate the Christmas holidays.

- Launch our mentoring initiative within different education provisions to support care-experienced young people and at-risk-of-exclusion students.
- Support our current and future initiatives to tackle the root causes of homelessness, exclusion, and inequality.
