Power Word Resist: A Charity Variety Show and Silent Auction

Power Word Resist is an independent charity organization working alongside other local and national charities to assist marginalized communities along the various degrees of LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Disabled, and other communities who could use additional help, awareness, and events in the current times we all find ourselves in.

This year in particular we have organized a charity variety show and silent auction which will take place in downtown Indianapolis at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, across the street from the Hyatt Regency and just under the Indy Arts Garden on Wednesday, July 30th (the same week as GenCon). All net proceeds will go towards GenderNexus, a local Indianapolis based Queer resources and advocacy charity which offers assistance with Queer healthcare, mental health services, and other services; and RAINN the largest national anti-sexual assault and human trafficking network.

Details on the event this GoFundMe is supporting are below, this page is for those who would otherwise not be able to attend the event or who wish to donate to these charities separately. The proceeds will be split evenly at 50/50 to GenderNexus and RAINN and proof of donation will be submitted when the event concludes.

Power Word Resist: A Charity Variety Show and Silent Charity Auction Benefitting GenderNexus and RAINN

When: Wednesday July 30, from 7 PM to 10 PM EST

Where: The Indiana Repertory Theatre

What: A three-hour Comedy, Music, and other Variety set of performances to raise money and awareness for charities related to assisting survivors of domestic and sexual assault, human trafficking, and hate across various marginalized communities. All net proceeds will be donated directly to the following charities in the spaces of providing much needed emergency medical care, food, consultations, supplies, and other services. In this endeavor we will be raising money through donations to RAINN and GenderNexus.

Benefitting:

RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline in partnership with more than 1000 local service providers from across the country and through the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, abuse, and trafficking, helps survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

GenderNexus is an Indianapolis Based organization whose mission is to provide gender-diverse peoples of all backgrounds with resources, environments, and support such that they feel accepted, welcomes, and valued for their unique selves and able to practice autonomy over themselves, including their identities, expressions, bodies, and practice freedom from disrespect, discrimination, oppression, and violence. GenderNexus partners with other charitable organizations both locally and nationally to pursue these goals, and offers various resources to pursue their mission, including legal advice, emergency housing, healthcare, and other needs.

Donations will be taken in the form of ticket revenue above administrative cost, and will have ongoing capability for additional donations throughout the course of the event, and incentives for those donations. We will also be hosting a Silent Charity Auction at the same time featuring loads of Tabletop RPG merchandise such as Core Rulebooks, Dice, Accessories, and other merchandise as provided by a number of major Tabletop Gaming Industry companies. This event is meant to be as inclusionary to all those wishing to promote, donate, and raise awareness to these important humanitarian causes. However we will reserve the right to remove disruptive presences so as to preserve the integrity, intention, and goal of the event.
