Power to Adoptees: Support SAAM’s Work for Identity and Just
Donation protected
We are the Scottish Adult Adoptee Movement (SAAM) — a grassroots group led by adult adoptees, for adult adoptees. We’re fighting for truth, rights, and recognition in a system that has historically erased us.
Many people still don’t know that adoption orders in the UK are lifelong, that adopted people lose access to their original identity, and that even into adulthood — and after death — our legal status as ‘adopted children’ never ends.
We are campaigning to change that.
But to do this work, we need the tools to keep going.
We’re asking for your support to help us:
Buy Laptop's and updated tech for our team (many of us are working with outdated devices that limit accessibility and security — especially for those with dyslexia and access needs)
Print SAAM hoodies and campaign materials to build visibility and confidence in public spaces and outreach
Host another adoptee-led event in November — a gathering for community, campaigning, and healing
This fundraiser will help power adoptee voices, create safe spaces for truth-telling, and equip our movement for the long road ahead. Every penny helps us fight harder for the recognition, identity, and rights that all adoptees deserve.
Thank you for standing with us.
