My name is Gaëtan, i'm French and I am 37 years old.
On January 28, 2026, my world collapsed.
My wife, Marina, passed away the day after giving birth to our second child.
Marina came into my life bringing stability, unconditional love, and the most beautiful of dreams: starting a family together. We got married in 2020, bonded for life.
In August 2021, our daughter Giulia was born. She gave a new meaning to my existence and brought me immense happiness.
We then chose to settle down in the town where Marina grew up, to offer our family an exceptional living environment. It was a source of immense pride to see Giulia attend the same school her mom did.
Then, Marina got pregnant with our second child. Giulia was 4 years old at the time. We were so happy, eager to grow our family.
On January 27, our little Dario was born. But the unspeakable happened.
Marina had to undergo an emergency C-section due to a pulmonary embolism. She was admitted to intensive care. The next day, her condition seemed stable. She even got to see Dario.
But when evening came, everything changed. Her condition suddenly deteriorated, and her heart stopped.
That day, I lost the love of my life. The pillar of our family.
In an instant, our foundations crumbled.
At first, I thought it was a nightmare. I refused to believe it. But as the days go by... the door no longer opens, the bed remains empty, her scent slowly fades, and her absence becomes reality.
Today, I must stay strong for Giulia and Dario.
I have to keep moving forward, following the path Marina wanted for our children. She left me her greatest legacy: them.
One day, I hope to reunite with her and tell her everything she missed: their first loves, their first heartbreaks, the paths they chose in life, and maybe tell her she became a grandmother...
I have always been an independent and self-reliant man. But today, to preserve the safe haven she had imagined for our children and offer them a future as peaceful as possible despite this tragedy, I need help.
