Kristal is a self-described survivor, mother, daughter, avid reader, animal lover, college student, and advocate for justice who has been incarcerated in Connecticut for almost 4 years.
Kristal is excited to build a life on the outside with their community, create a home, and continue their fight for survivors from the other side of the walls. Please help them find long-term housing by contributing to this post-release fund, organized by their friends on the outside.

While inside, Kristal has survived medical abuse, sexual violence by a court marshal, and ongoing retaliation from corrections officers for reporting this violence. Refusing to be silenced, Kristal has been speaking out to get healing and justice for herself and all survivors on the inside. They shared their truth on the Connecticut Bail Fund’s radio show and a panel hosted by Third World Newsreel, co-led an action in front of York Correctional Institution from inside its walls, and published poetry and art on the Support Ho(s)e Collective blog and in the Survived & Punished NY newsletter Free : Survivors. They also launched their own blog, Kitty’s Corner, where they speak out about the violence they are resisting and shares their reflections on healing, self-growth, and true justice. On the outside, Kristal plans to use their voice and knowledge to build the movement to free survivors and free them all.
