Greetings, friends! My name is Lori, and I believe democracy is something we participate in, not just believe in. It's worth fighting for, especially right now.

In early 2025, I connected with a postcard-writing community through Indivisible Eastside. A handful of us who believed in the power of postcarding decided to build something of our own: a new network of neighbors across the Eastside who get together in person to write postcards to voters. In my day-to-day, I do fundraising work in the arts, and I've brought that same community-driven spirit and skill set here.

I love that this work brings people together around something we care about, each in our own way. Whether that means picking up a pen and joining us, or helping cover the cost of a stamp when you can't make it to a session yourself. Every bit of support, your time, your words, or a little postage, keeps this wave moving toward Election Day, and guides us into the season beyond this November.

How We Do It

We stay plugged into campaigns and get-out-the-vote efforts happening across the country and here in Washington state, and connect with them directly. They supply us with names, addresses, and sometimes even the postcards themselves. From there, our volunteers gather to write, one card and one voter at a time. The postage is where we need your help, and it's what keeps every one of those postcards moving from our tables into mailboxes across the country.

Where the Dollars Go

This fundraiser launches in September 2026 and will run through the midterms and beyond. A quick note on how it works: we spend funds as they come in, usually within the week received, to keep postcards moving out the door on a regular basis. So, while you'll see our goal and the amount raised continue to climb, that money isn't sitting in an account waiting for a target to be hit, it's very likely already been converted into stamps and gone out in the mail.

Every contribution, whenever it comes in, goes directly toward the materials our fellow volunteers use to reach voters.
