Hi! I'm Astrid, the chief of Post Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, a very small, under funded wildland fire dept in Northern California which governs a rural subdivision and the surrounding area.
We are currently only a few miles from the north end of the August Complex, the largest fire in California history. The fire is moving somewhat slowly and there are crews on it, however the fire in our area is currently 0% contained. Our 5,000 residents, many who refuse to evacuate, need our protection. We are working tirelessly to communicate with the fire crews and the community as well as prepare our own resources for what may happen.
Any donation helps us greatly, such as buying much needed new gear, fueling and repairing our fire trucks, and supporting our community with fire suppression efforts. Thanks so much!
