While You Were Here-Portraits of New Mexico Families
I’m writing to ask you to contribute to the production of a book of family portraits that I took in 2024, when I was artist-in-residence at the New Mexico Museum of Art/Vladem Contemporary. When published, the book will become a historical document as well as a de facto community family album.
While You Were Here-Portraits of New Mexico Families will be published (Rush Creek Editions) and printed (Paper Tiger) in Santa Fe. It will feature 60 photographs and three essays: by Alicia Romero, Head Curator at the Albuquerque Museum; Mark Tiarks, musicologist and journalist; and Samantha Dunn, novelist and memoirist.

I received more than one hundred emails from people who participated in this project.
