Portlaoise CFR Fundraising Drive
Portlaoise Community First Responders was established in March 2024.
We are a group of 11 dedicated, dynamic&passionate volunteers who provide 365days,24/7 voluntary emergency medical assistance to the community of Portlaoise who may be suffering from Cardiac Arrests, Heart Attacks, Chest Pain,Strokes&Choking.
On 17th March 3 of our amazing volunteers will participate in the Annual Streets of Portlaoise 5km Road Race to help our group raise funds for vital equipment.
Antanas Jonusas,Colm Owens&Caoimhe Dunne will show their dedication to the group&the community by participating in the race.We as a group are so grateful for their support both in this fundraiser&in their roles as a Community First Responder ❤️
We are fully qualified CFRs,Garda Vetted&we work under the clinical governance&guidelines of the National Ambulance Service.
We are dispatched by the National Ambulance Service to be the First Responders on scene for anyone in the community who may need urgent assistance while waiting for further treatment from the National Ambulance Service for such emergency conditions we are trained&dispatched to attend.
We are also responsible for the Public Access AEDs in Portlaoise town, meaning we are responsible for the maintenance&replenishment of any equipment, this includes AEDs,replacement pads, the AED secure box etc.
We are a voluntary group&do not receive any funding, therefore we rely solely on the kindness&generosity of the community of Portlaoise to support us in order to purchase essential life saving equipment such as AEDs,fully stocked medical kit bags, medication, replacement AED pads, health&safety clothing and more.
We also require training equipment to ensure our amazing CFRs have the necessary certified skills to help the community&to provide public information sessions to the Portlaoise Community to demonstrate CPR&other life saving skills.
We as a group are truly thankful for all the support we have received to date from the community &would appreciate if any businesses, individuals &organisations would please consider donating to this fantastic voluntary organisation that is committed to helping the people of Portlaoise.
Thank you.
