PORTER DAVIS NIGHTMARE FOR NEW PARENTS
Donation protected
On Friday 31st of March our best friend and her family’s world along with so many others lives were turned upside down with the announcement of Porter Davis going into Liquidation.
They were due to move in to their first home only 6 days later with their 2 week old little boy.
This was meant to be the happiest time of their lives and just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse on Saturday the 1st of April we had to break the horrible news that their first home, the home they had worked so hard for was severely vandalised by someone targeting Porter Davis homes.
Their entire house was left flooded after drains were blocked and taps from every outlet were left on. If that wasn’t enough all of their walls and doors were slashed in every room of the house.
All of their carpets, timber floors, skirting boards, quadding, plaster, bedroom doors, front door and most likely all of their cabinetry is ruined from water damage and will need to be replaced, this is going to set them back 10’s of thousands of dollars, which from what we have been told so far will not be covered by the builders insurance.
Their build process has been far from a smooth ride with set back after set back!
from not receiving contracts at the beginning, to a 5 month delay on their steel frames, while all the houses around them went up with timber frames which they were told was not possible due to timber shortages.
This went on continuously with further delays on window frames, taps, garage doors and the list just goes on.
All of these delays were very poorly communicated and the stress was unbearable for them especially while pregnant with there first child.
Now they are new parents with their 2 week old little boy, with no home to move into, her being on maternity leave and him being self employed the added stress of the unknown and financial burden that this has caused has emotionally , mentally and financially shattered all of their hopes and dreams.
Any assistance or donations would make such a difference to this new family.
