Port News Story Surf at Home 

The SURF @ HOME Campaign is creating awareness and raising funds for those at risk or experiencing homelessness in our local Port Macquarie Hastings region. We challenge the local community to experience first hand one aspect of homelessness which is a normal occurrence to those who are actually homeless or couch surfing.  Step outside your comfort zone and SURF @ HOME.

Collect sponsors and sleep on your couch for up to 6 nights during Homelessness Week 2-8 Aug 2020 and you will directly support someone who is homeless in your local area with food, essentials and valuable supports.

If the SURF @ HOME challenge is too tough, make a donation today. During this time the Committee will also be conducting activities and events to create awareness to support those experiencing homelessness.

THE CHALLENGE HAS BEEN SET - If we reach our 5K goal, some daring local community workers will brave the elements during Homelessness Week and sleep rough, documenting their challenge and posting on social media. Our long-term goal is to provide lockers as a safe space to store personal items and to create a drop-in-centre to support those in crisis. This fundraiser is supported by the Port Macquarie Hastings Homelessness Committee.
