Martin Family Adoption

Our names are Josh and Katie Martin, and we believe that it is part of our calling on this Earth to adopt children and raise them in the goodness and loving kindness of Yahweh. We have 3 kids already, River, Pia, and Malachi. Pia was adopted 3 weeks before Malachi was born (when River was 18mo old) and we knew that day we’d adopt again.

While we pursued many ways to have our own child biologically this year, the Lord continually pushed us towards adoption instead. So we got a home study in late summer and prayed! We waited on the Lord to show us the way to go and he led us to an amazing, God fearing lawyer who honors birth mothers and supports families hoping to adopt and matching them to potential mothers. We were warned that we were the only family he has ever worked with to already have 3 children, so that we may not get chosen or it would take months, maybe even over a year, for us go be chosen. We were okay with this and trust God’s timing in all things, but the day after we sent in our adoption book, a birth mother chose us. We could not believe it!

We got this news on Nov. 30 and need $18,000 by Dec. 6! We will also need $6,000 when the adoption is finalized once the baby is born. That means we need $24,000 by the end of the month! This was so shocking to us as we were slowly saving for this day and it came incredibly quickly. The sweet little one is due around Christmas Day, and we cannot wait to meet them (we don’t know the gender!). Please join us in praying for an absolute miracle.

We have felt led to support other adoptions all throughout this year and now we are humbled to be asking others to support our own. We’d be honored to receive help of any kind, but we know our God hears our prayers and would especially appreciate if you could pray for your family as it grows and well as for the birth mother, as she has lovingly and courageously chosen life for her little one.
