Attached is the picture of a beautiful family struck by the most unimaginable tragedy. Pictured are the children of a terminally ill father and now a recently deceased mother. This family has suffered hardships like no other. From the mother having to raise her children on her own after losing her partner's support in a country that does not have protective measures or a system in place for helping families or single mothers in vulnerable position or needs. Everyone who had come to know this family, would know just how hard the mother had to work - to pay for the father's medical bills, the children’s school fees and on most days, meeting life‘s necessities. She had been a warrior, a mentor and the rock for the family. Only to have her life lost to the careless and senseless healthcare system of Bangladesh.

As seen on the widely circulating news in social media, she was denied care and turned down from hospital to hospital for presumably having COVID-19, whereas she was just someone who had gotten severely ill and needed immediate care and attention of the ICU. The oldest daughter, who is a recent medical graduate from CMC,  was aware her mother's conditions are most likely non COVID-19 related, had begged hospital authorities to take her in but had been turned down hopeless with absolute no real reason or rationality. Eventually, leading to her mother’s death in her arms, in an ambulance.  If this does not scream an atrocious crime against human dignity, I’m not sure what else does. It’s beyond infuriating and heartbreaking that a fully functional family was unfairly broken by the system, orphaning and leaving behind now young dependent kids. Therefore, I need all your help to raise funds for this family, provide the children the support for immediate assistance relating to funeral costs, medical bills, as well as basic necessities.
