Last week, sweet Halle was not feeling well, and Elissa, with her incredible mama intuition, decided it was time for Halle to be seen. After considering this may be appendicitis, Elissa took Halle to the ER. Once at the ER, they discovered that Halle's pain was being caused by a 4.5-inch (11cm) tumor. Their doctor confirmed that this tumor is 99.9% cancerous and considered to be a Wilms tumor. Wilms tumors are common in children aged 3-4, very rare, and affect 1 in 10,000 children.

On Monday, 9/16/2024, Halle is having the tumor removed. Within the next week, Elissa and family will receive more information regarding the tumor and stage of the cancer. Sweet Halle will begin chemotherapy within the next week, after recovering from surgery.

We created this GoFundMe as parents who deeply care for the Huggins family and who have daughters that have become best friends with Halle. At this time, the Huggins family will be spending a lot of time at Children's Hospital and will need all the support they can get. Please consider donating to help with meals near the hospital, gas to and from home, which is about an hour drive each way, helping to get their house cleaned to avoid any germs during Halle's recovery, and paying their monthly bills. We also want to support big sister Addie in this very hard time.
