I have been accepted into the AustraliaEMS International Paramedic Professional Development Tour in Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, from June to July 2026. I am one of 20 Australian paramedic students selected to go.

This program is separate to my university placement. It gives me extra time on road mid-year, to keep my skills fresh before I start my university placement at the end of year. I want more real-world exposure so I keep building clinical judgement, calm decision making, and broaden my perspectives.

What the program involves

The core of the tour is clinical exposure through ride along shifts with USA paramedics in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Why I am fundraising

This tour is self-funded and the costs are significant. I also need to pay the program fee in instalments across the next few months, so I am raising funds to cover the essentials and secure my place.

Program Costs

AustraliaEMS program fee: A$5,950

Flights: around A$3,500

Travel insurance for two weeks

Food and day-to-day essentials while I am there

Local experience to immerse in local culture

Why this matters to me

On top of my Paramedic Studies I volunteer in surf lifesaving, where clear thinking and strong communication matter. This experience will strengthen how I operate under pressure and support my development across study, training, and service and will increase my experiences to help me deliver the best content to young lifesavers on lifesaving programs.
