My little sister Katie went to the doctor last Friday, May 9, with what she thought was a sore throat from Covid. She was then sent to the hospital to make sure she was ok, and it very quickly escalated over the course of the day from there. By the next morning, she was given the news no one wants to hear.

Katie is now officially diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She will start chemo immediately and will be hospitalized nonstop for at least a month, possibly longer.

Katie is a stay-at-home mom to two small children, ages 2 and 5. Her husband, Steve, works full-time and now has to try and be both full-time provider and full-time parent. In addition to that, they live over an hour from the hospital. My sisters and I (Tara, Megan, and myself, Lara) will all be coming and going to help, but we also all have to work. Life does not stop for emergencies like this.

This fundraiser is to help offset this insanely large financial burden that this will take on their small family. Any little bit helps. God has a plan, and we all appreciate anyone donating anything they can. And if unable to donate, please just send prayers and love to this young mom who deeply just wants to go home to her babies.
