My name is Daphne Hayden, and I am the daughter of Carol Nachreiner. Her husband, Bruce Nachreiner, sustained a life-altering injury while on the job on Monday, July 14, 2025.

On the morning of his injury, Bruce suffered a major fall of approximately 20 feet through an attic while at work. As a result, he sustained multiple injuries, most critical being his spinal cord, but also including a collapsed lung, a brain bleed, and other serious trauma. Tragically, Bruce lay alone and incapacitated for nearly nine hours, unable to call for help. It was only by chance that a school janitor discovered him and immediately contacted emergency services. First responders quickly arrived on the scene and stabilized Bruce before transporting him to the nearest trauma center.

Upon arrival, Bruce underwent emergency surgery to stabilize his spine. Unfortunately, he currently has no sensation below his chest. Despite the severity of his injuries, Bruce remains in good spirits and is grateful to be alive. He is fully aware that his condition may not be what it was originally, and is coming to terms with the potential reality that he may never walk again.

Bruce has always been a fighter and a dedicated provider for his family. With his full consent, I am sharing this update, as Bruce understands that returning to work may no longer be an option. While he focuses on extensive rehabilitation and recovery, the looming concern of financial strain weighs heavily on him, my mom, and my sister Natalie.

The goal of this fundraiser is to ease that burden for them and allow Bruce to focus entirely on his healing journey—free from financial distractions.
