“Please Not The Food We Need To Eat”

Hi my name is Debra, I’ve known Stephanie since 2019. I’ve watched her daily on her Facebook Lives, assisted and gives countlessly to the homeless community in downtown Los Angeles, California day in and day out. I’ve watched how vendors, non profits, families and people from all over come to the corner of 5th and San Pedro the Whitehouse Community Center. The Community Center was well known around the world, many from different Countries tuned into Stephanie’s lives.

Every Holiday was a special event at the Whitehouse Community Center, in between the Holidays Stephanie celebrated Birthday’s of many who lives in Skid Row. Stephanie is the kind of person who gives ALL! Anything Stephanie would get it quickly went to the homeless community as well those living in housing.

On Monday February 13, 2023 early morning Los Angeles Sanitation Department along with LAPD showed up and quickly secured a perimeter around the entire Whitehouse Community Center with out any warning, no notice nothing,

Sanitation came to take all platforms on wheels (For tents & canopies) as well all foods, clothing, bed (mattress) blankets, pillows, unopened case of water, too much to list. Hundreds watched in person and on livestream how Sanitation destroyed all these items named above more.

Stephanie yelled out over and over agin, “Can I get my food, can I get my blanket, can I get my pillow, I need my clothes, can you just let me get those items?” Stephanie asked over and over can I get the stage it doesn’t belong to me it’s the Westly Center’s and Feed The Streets. She was told many answers, no, yes, wait we will let you get them. Sadly Stephanie wasn’t given the opportunity to gather all she asked for. Instead Sanitation destroyed and demolished those items and more right into the garbage truck.

Stephanie lost everything that morning, she’s a Pilar in her community, a mother to many. “Mama Steph” is what many call her or “Auntie” Stephanie puts a lot of smiles on faces in the homeless community on 5th and San Pedro.

Stephanie keeps the corner of 5th/ San Pedro clean, Pastor Timothy Park and his church comes every Sunday to have church for the homeless community and serves dinner after the church service. The very stage that was destroyed was the stage used for Church services.

Stephanie needs our help, she needs clothes, hygiene, cleaning materials such as mops, brooms, towels, mop buckets, canopy tents, to rebuild for the homeless community. Stephanie is preparing to get a permit that will allow her to service the community as well.

Please what ever you have to give, every little bit helps.

Thank you so much for your kindness, your thoughts and your giving.
