Please help with our Dad David’s recovery fund

Hello everyone. I am starting this go fund me to help with my father David Abrena with his battle with Covid! He’s been admitted at a hospital in the Philippines since 7/4 and have been transferred to yet another hospital due to not only having covid but also with complications from his diabetes. My father at the moment is still in the hospital and awaiting to get dialysis done meanwhile still trying to battle Covid at the second hospital. It is different in the Philippines as far as medical bills or expenses as they require you to pay everything up front prior to you being discharged or getting transferred to another hospital even if it’s an emergency which is exactly what happened to our dad. They also don’t give you that much options to set up a payment plan. For instance my father’s 2 1/2 days stay at the 1st hospital cost us almost $4000.

At this time I set up this go fund me to not only help with his looming medical bills from this new hospital but also all the medical expenses such as his medication to maintain his diabetes, dialysis and help with covid treatment as well as food and other necessities to maintain his health. Just as an example one dose alone of the covid meds they want to give him is over 25,000 php (pesos) which is about $500 per dose. My father who also had his last leg amputated years ago due to complications of diabetes has remained strong for so long. He is my Hero and the love of our lives. Though he raised my sister and I as a single father he remained positive and never showed us when he struggled. He is the type when seeing there’s only one piece of pie left would give it to my sister and I and say he never cared for it anyway just so we could have it. He is the type of person where if he had the last $20 in his pocket would give it to someone else that may need it! To say we are so scared, heartbroken and so stressed out at this time is a huge understatement. We feel helpless as we can’t even fly to the Philippines due to the covid restrictions. We want so much for my father to recover so that he may finally meet 3 of his grandchildren he never met in person and see the other 4 grandchildren he hasn’t seen in decades. We wish and pray so much we can one day him a hug and tell him we love him in person but at this moment we just want him to be able to recover from all of what’s going on. Any little bit of help, prayers, and sharing this go fund me will be a huge help for my father’s recovery and would mean the world to my family and I.
