Please help with legal fees ~ Divorce and Custody

My story as a mother and wife is all too common. I put my professional goals aside to follow my husband’s career across the country and raise our kids, while he focused on his career and grew his income exponentially year after year. Over the course of our relationship, he rose from his job as a cashier at a grocery store, to a secure six figure position at a big tech company. I sacrificed my income, my health, and my dreams to care for my family and help my partner rise to success, and I continued to put myself second to his needs even after we broke up, to my detriment.

I’m picking up where I left off years ago with my career as a dance instructor, but it’s taking time to grow, especially during a pandemic. Meanwhile, my ex has became increasingly antagonistic and hostile, as well as completely unreasonable and plainly unfair with respect to my rights with my kids and my rights to our marital assets. Very recently he lawyered up, filed for divorce, and thus far has indicated every intention of limiting my parental rights and depriving me of my fair share of our marital assets. He’s trying to leave me with nothing.

I found a great lawyer, and I’m ready to fight back, but I need $3k to cover her initial retainer, and that’s just the beginning. My ex has control of our finances, and without legal counsel, I’m at a severe disadvantage in respect to protecting my rights and ensuring the best outcome for myself and my girls.
