When Mom Can't Do It Alone.... We Step In
Aloha Friends,
At some point, nearly every family faces this moment:
A parent can no longer live safely at home.
The house is full — not just of furniture, but of memories, photos, paperwork, and decades of life. The children often live thousands of miles away. Emotions are high. Time is short. And no one knows where to begin.
In Hawaiʻi, this moment is happening every single day to our kūpuna.
I started Aloha Senior 411 because I’ve seen too many seniors and families overwhelmed, grieving, and alone — trying to figure out what to do with a home that once held their entire life.
Too often, families are forced into impossible choices:
Pay thousands of dollars upfront they don’t have
Leave a home sitting vacant and deteriorating
Sell quickly and lose hard-earned equity
Or walk away emotionally exhausted and unsure if they did right by their loved one
We believe our kūpuna deserve better.
Aloha Senior 411 steps in when families don’t know what to do next.
We gently guide seniors and their families through:
Sorting and clearing a lifetime of belongings
Donating usable items to local charities and food banks
Coordinating minor repairs and safety upgrades
Cleaning, staging, and preparing the home with dignity
Selling the home thoughtfully — often with no upfront cost to the family
One trusted point of contact. One compassionate plan. No chaos.
We do this with respect, patience, and aloha — not pressure.
Why I’m Asking for Your Help
We’ve already helped dozens of Hawaiʻi families — often funding projects out of our own pockets to protect seniors who couldn’t afford upfront costs.
But compassion alone doesn’t pay for:
Cleanouts and hauling
Safety repairs
Staging and photography
Legal protections
Accounting and compliance
Right now, families need help faster than we can sustainably provide it.
Your contribution allows us to:
Create a revolving project fund so seniors don’t have to pay upfront
Formalize our legal and financial structure so we can serve more families
Reach isolated seniors whose children live on the mainland
Keep usable items out of landfills and food on local tables
This isn’t about building a big company.
It’s about protecting dignity at one of life’s most vulnerable moments.
What Your Donation Really Does
$50 helps cover donation and disposal costs so families aren’t burdened
$100 helps fund safety cleanups and minor repairs
$250 helps a senior prepare their home for a dignified transition
$500+ helps us front costs so no senior has to choose between care and cash
Every dollar helps a family breathe a little easier.
A Personal Note
Hawaiʻi is aging faster than almost any state. Many of our kūpuna built these neighborhoods, raised families here, and now find themselves alone when they need help the most.
If this cause touches you — because of a parent, a grandparent, a neighbor, or your own future — please consider supporting this mission.
And if you can’t give, sharing this page is a powerful form of kokua.
Mahalo nui loa for helping us take care of those who once took care of us.
With gratitude and aloha,
Don Dietz
