In the morning of Thursday July 17th 2025, Lindsay and Michael were headed home after adopting a new fur baby brother (Lenny) for Rupert. A day that was meant to be full of love and excitement turned to tragedy when Michael suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel causing the vehicle to go down into an embankment.

Even after suffering life threatening injuries, including a compound fractured wrist, Lindsay bravely screamed out for help while attempting CPR. A woman nearby heard Lindsay’s cries, sprung into action and called 911. The women stayed with Lindsay until help arrived, called her family and even kept them updated. Lindsay was then airlifted to the hospital where she had to undergo surgery. The new puppy (pictured moments before) was found deceased at the scene.

Michael, who was 34 years old and a Canadian Navel veteran was taken from this world far too soon. Those who knew Michael will remember his incredible sweetness and unmatched sense of humor. Michael had the ability to fill any room with laughter and be a comforting presence to all who knew him. These are only a few of the many reasons that made Michael a treasured friend, partner and son.

We created this fundraiser to rally around Lindsay with love and support. The money collected will be used to cover the costs of everyday living and the financial burden that comes with this type of sudden tragedy. Let’s give Lindsay a little bit of peace of mind, while she takes the time to heal her body and heart from the loss of her soulmate.
